Hi, I’m Amy.
My first real job, at 14, was at a needlework shop in northern Wisconsin. That’s where I started knitting seriously, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I went on to study Clothing, Textiles and Design at the University of Wisconsin–Stout, which gave me a lifelong interest in how garments are built.
Today I represent yarn lines to independent shops in Texas and Oklahoma. I look for lines that sell well and knit up beautifully, with a soft spot for good natural fibers.
Lately I’ve added fabric to the bag. Sewing was always the other half of that textiles degree, so it’s a natural fit, and I’m now calling on quilt and sewing shops in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. Same approach as with yarn: lines that earn their space on the shelf and are a pleasure to cut and sew.
I still take classes whenever I can; there’s always another technique worth learning, and I like passing those tips along to the shops I visit.
My husband and I have lived in several states, and every move brought new friends and new yarn shops. Our favorite quote is “Not all who wander are lost.”
If you own a shop in my territory, I’d love to hear from you.
